Welcome to the world of UA Baja Racing! UA Baja Racing is an engineering design team at the University of Arizona which competes in the Baja SAE Collegiate Design Competition. The Society of Automotive Engineers hosts three regional Baja SAE competitions for collegiate students to design, build, market, and race single-seat off-road vehicles.
The object of the competition is to give collegiate students an opportunity to experience the challenges associated with introducing new products to a consumer market. Universities from around the world compete with one another to have their design accepted for manufacture by a fictitious firm. Students must function as a team to not only design, build, test, promote, and race a vehicle within the limits of the rules, but also to generate financial support for their project and manage educational priorities.
"University of Arizona Baja Racing placed a record 12th in a field of 117 teams at a recent international collegiate off-road racing competition, only a year after the student engineering club achieved an all-time best position of 21st out of 100."

New officers for the 2012-2013 school year have been elected, and look to take the team to new heights in the coming year.
