Welcome to the world of UA Baja Racing! UA Baja Racing is an engineering design team at the University of Arizona which competes in the Baja SAE Collegiate Design Competition. The Society of Automotive Engineers hosts three regional Baja SAE competitions for collegiate students to design, build, market, and race single-seat off-road vehicles.
The object of the competition is to give collegiate students an opportunity to experience the challenges associated with introducing new products to a consumer market. Universities from around the world compete with one another to have their design accepted for manufacture by a fictitious firm. Students must function as a team to not only design, build, test, promote, and race a vehicle within the limits of the rules, but also to generate financial support for their project and manage educational priorities.
"The University of Arizona Baja Racing Team traveled to Kansas to compete in the Baja SAE competition. Although the team did not place as high as they hoped, they learned some valuable things about what it takes to compete. The team returnes this year with plenty of veteran members, ready to make improvements over last year."
The College of Engineering recently did a photo shoot to showcase the clubs of SAE. We would like to thank the College of Engineering, and invite you to check out all the photos on our Facebook page!
