Readmission RequirementsStudents must apply for readmission through the Office of Admissions. Please refer to the Office of Admissions website for deadlines. Late applications will not be accepted. Students seeking readmission, who were not on academic probation or under disqualification upon departure from the University, are eligible to return upon application for readmission if fewer than 12 college-level units have been attempted at other post-secondary institutions. Students who have attempted 12 or more college-level units at other post-secondary institutions must submit an official transcript of all course work. A minimum cumulative grade-point-average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale is required for course work completed at other institutions. Engineering students who left the University in good academic standing must have been making progress towards their degree at the time of their departure in order to be considered for readmission to the College of Engineering. Engineering students seeking admission to an alternate college must obtain written permission to re-enroll from the dean of the desired college. The Office of Admissions will process the application for readmission according to the written recommendation of the dean. Readmission applications are processed on a first-in, first-out basis. If you left in good standing, you can expect the process to take four to six weeks from the time we receive your complete application. This time frame may increase during our peak processing time.
Students seeking readmission who left the University on academic probation or under disqualification must receive approval from the dean of the college they wish to enter before readmission. See below for procedures. Readmission Requirements for Students in Poor Standing (Academic Probation or Disqualification)All students must apply for readmission through the Office of Admissions. The Office of Admissions will notify the colleges of the student’s pending application. For readmission to the College of Engineering: After receiving the request for readmission from the Office of Admissions, the Engineering Academic Affairs Office will send, either by mail or email, the student a Petition for Academic Review, a letter stating the deadline for completion of the petition and a request for unofficial transcripts from any institution the applicant has attended since leaving the University. The College Readmission Committee will review the petition, unofficial transcripts and UA course work. If students have attended another institution, they must show significant academic improvement in engineering degree required courses and earned a 3.00 GPA in that degee coursework to be considered for re-admission. Students will be notified by mail or e-mail of the committee’s decision. If you left on academic probation or disqualification, you can expect the process to take up to 12 weeks. It takes longer because the Office of Admissions does not make admission decisions for students who did not leave in good academic standing. We process your application, and then forward it to the college of your choice. The college will notify the Office of Admissions when a decision has been made. From there, the Office of Admissions will notify you.
